E.& H. Roberts Ltd were the agricultural and sanitary engineers for the area based at the Deanshanger Iron Works, with branch works at Buckingham. Note the Telephone no, Stony Stratford 23. Telegarms Roberts Deanshanger. The company was able to offer estimates and plans to inspect sites for water supply of every description. Being agents for the Hercules Windmill they proudly stated on their letter head that these were made of the "best English Steel which weighs twice as much as those of American manufacture". They were also involved in general import and export. It is also noticable in letter number 11, dated Aug 5th 1915, that they were starting to have staff shortages due to men enlisting.

Dear Sir/ Replying to yours of the 27th ulto, re tow path hedge. at no 10 bridge. Some years ago, when my Father. the late Mr Henry Roberts, made the Tennis Court, he wanted the hedge allowed to grow a little higher to act as a blind, and he made some arrangement for this to be done, on his undertaking to keep it cut. I however have no wish to continue doing this work, as the trees etc have grown up, will you kindly let me know whether next year your man will do this work.
Yours faithfully.

Mr Milner. Grand Junction Canals District Engineers Office.
Blisworth.
Dear Sir:-
The ashes we put out on the canal bank, close to our wharf for you, are greatly in our way. We must have them removed at once, as we wish to stack some moulding boxes etc. where they are, as we are making alterations to our foundry, and any delay caused, will add to our expense, as we must have the moulding plant up at once.
Several of our moulders having now inlisted, and we cannot get any other to take their places.
Faithfully yours,
For. E.&H. ROBERTS. LTD.
Tom H Roberts.
