  • The Buckingham Canal Website from the parents of Brooksward school
some excellent extra historical information (site no longer maintained)
  • Canalcuttings Online canal magazine - Canal Societies

  • Places on the line of the Buckingham Canal:

    • Deanshanger: a map of the village: feature 22 is Wharf House. The line of the canal is shown by footpaths, hedgerows and trees running South-South-West towards Wharf House from the top of the map just below the "a" of "Heritage": below Wharf House the line of the canal curves towards the East behind a row of gardens.
    • Thornton: a map of 1881 showing the canal as feature 9. The main waterway through the village is the river Ouse. There's a link from that map to a 1925 map.
