As some of you know, we have a 30ft Sea Otter aluminium boat and I attend shows as a representative of the Sea Otter owners' club. We thought you might like to share some of the customers' remarks overheard on the stand:
- 'Oh look! It's on a trailer, does the trailer stay in the water as well?'
- 'Don't the trailer wheels drag on the bottom of the canal when it's shallow?'
- 'And from a gentleman holding the brochure and the sample of aluminium plate that we show to stand visitors: 'I know all about Sea Otters, are they made of STEEL?'
- 'Will it go across the Channel?' I had to reply, 'It is a canal boat, you know', promptly getting the answer back 'Well you could fit buoyancy bags couldn't you?'
