Mrs Unwin's workbox, pre-1783. The watercolour portraits and view of the Parlour, were added later, probably soon after Cowper's death:

The lid has portraits of herself, Cowper and Lady Austen, possibly by one of the three Slater brothers, portrait painters and engravers.

The base has a watercolour of the Parlour as it was in Cowper's time: click here to see it.
