CASTLETHORPE

Local Wedding. At the Parish Church of SS. Simon and Jude, Castlethorpe, on Saturday afternoon last the marriage of Mr. F. C. Pratt, of Leighton Buzzard, and Miss Rose Brackley, daughter of Mr. Solomon Brackley, of Castlethorpe. The Rev. E. J. Fenn, curate, performed the ceremony, in the presence of an interested congregation. Given away by her father, the bride wore a dress of white crepe de chine trimmed with lace, and her veil was held in position by a wreath of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of lilies and chrysanthemums. Her bridesmaids were Miss Minnie Burdell (a friend) and Miss Martha Pratt (sister of the bridegroom), who were attired in mauve crepe de chine and wore black hats trimmed with material to match their dresses. They carried sheaves of pink carnations. The reception was held at the Carrington Arms, where Mr. and Mrs. Powell’s catering gave entire satisfaction. Later in the day the happy couple took train for Chesham for their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a blue serge costume and biscuit coloured hat. A number of very useful presents were received.
