Owen Nichols, of Castlethorpe, artisan, was summoned, under Section 23 of the Vaccination Act, in respect to the non-vaccination of his child Leonard, aged 18 months.
The proceedings were taken by Mr. George Fellows, the Vaccination Officer of the Olney District of the Newport Pagnell Union, who produced his instructions and stated the facts.
Defendant admitted the offence, but stated he had conscientious objections to vaccination. His child was then healthy, and he wished it to continue on.
Defendant was ordered to have the child vaccinated within 14 days and to pay 6s. 6d.

Owen Nichols, of Castlethorpe, pleaded guilty to not complying with a vaccination order made on the 19th of October.
Mr. Fellows, Vaccination Officer for the Olney district of the Newport Union, prosecuted.
Defendant said he could not agree with vaccination, neither could he have his child vaccinated, fearing the result.
Defendant was fined 10s and 9s. 6d. costs, or fourteen days.
