DAVE Ell completed a highly successful season with Castlethorpe Cricket Club by winning both the bowling and batting awards.
The presentation of the double was made to Dave by vice chairman Richard Oakley at the annual dinner and dance held at the Willow Tree restaurant, Billing Aquadrome.
Dave’s fine performances were praised by captain Dave Spinnelli, who, speaking in the absence of chairman Terry Barnes, said Dave had taken 82 wickets and had won the batting award for the first time in eight years with the club after scoring 416 runs.
Chris Tombs, who finished runner-up to Dave in the batting with 347 runs, won the fielding award with 13 catches.
