Litter Blitz

The Parish Council in conjunction with Milton Keynes Borough Council organised a Litter Blitz around the Village and the Scout Group always offer their service in this Community Project. The Scout Troop were given the task of clearing the Recreation Ground of litter whilst the Pack undertook rubbish clearing around and in the Village Pond.

The Cub Scouts volunteers met at Akela’s house, suitably attired for the task, at 8.0am. We tackled the litter around the green and around the perimeter of the pond before attempting to hook out the rubbish from the Pond with Mr. Roy Beasley’s long handled fork. Having completed the work as best we could we walked to Stocking Green Farm to return the fork and on the route picked up further litter on the path.

The Cub Scouts learnt what litter unthinking people tossed aside and in the process make their community untidy which was further endorsed by the rubbish bags we left in Johnson’s Garage.
