Pack Visit to Model Railway Club Bletchley
After a shortened Pack Meeting we left the Headquarters at 6.25 p.m. to travel to Bletchley. We were received by Mr. Wood who proceeded to explain about the Club and their model layouts. There were 3 layouts of different gauges and each was explained and worked by the members. We were all impressed by the very fine details on two of the layouts and the many rolling stock and engines on view. The third layout was in the course of construction and we could see the amount of work which has to be done to bring such a layout to exhibition standard. Matthew Wylde had brought along an engine he thought was running with some problems, however the members kindly tested it on their test track and proved it was in running order.
After thanking the Club and bidding our fair wells we returned to the Headquarters at 7.50 p.m. Many of the Cub Scouts no doubt running home to try their own model railways out dreaming of the improvements they could make if only Dad would increase the size of both their homes and pocket money
