Milton Keynes North District Cub Scouts Sports

At St. Giles & St. Mary’s Middle School Playing Field 2.0p.m. Start

We left the Headquarters at 1.25p.m. to travel to Stony Stratford to try and retain the Shield for the 6th year running.

The weather was warm and sunny and our team started in winning form by picking up many points in the heats and finals of the early events. The early form was maintained during the afternoon encouraged by the enthusiastic parents shouting on the side. All the cub scouts competing certainly ‘did their best’ and in only one event did we fail to gain any points.

At the completion of the Sports we all gathered around the District Commissioner Mr. Don Scott who presented the individual certificates to all of the successful Cub Scouts. Mrs. Ann Rogers A.D.C. Cub Scouts then announced that 1st Stony Stratford ‘Mohicans’ had come third with 34 points, 1st Wolverton second with 58 and 1st Hanslope the winners with 70 points. The Pack and Leaders were very proud that we had again retained the Shield for a marvelous record of 6 years consecutively and we returned home in excellent spirits after our efforts.
