Deanshanger Reserves improved their league position with a deserved but narrow win. As on the previous Saturday, the home team showed their best form in the first half and smart play by their young forwards brought goals from Read (2) and Bull.
After this, although having rather more of the play, their finishing deteriorated and Castlethorpe twice reduced the arrears in spasmodic raids. Coles (goalkeeper) was the visitors' outstanding player.
For Deanshanger, Read shows improvement with each game and has formed a good understanding with Henson on the wing and right-half Godfrey. the defence played a sound game.
