The above teams met at Bletchley on Saturday last, and a most interesting game resulted in a win for the visitors. The opening exchanges were rather even, each team pressing in turn. The visitors right wing got away, only to be checked by Perritt. After twenty minutes play the homesters broke away on the right, and passing the ball to the left wing, saw Crane score with a fast, rising shot. A few minutes later the homesters increased their lead through Hankins. The visitors now took up the game, and until half-time the homester’s goal had many narrow escapes

The second half opened sensationally, Bavington scoring for the visitors in the first minute. From the re-start the homesters pressed, but Nichols saved at the expense of a corner. The flag kick was cleared, and the visitors forward line took the ball down for Castlethorpe to equalise. The visitors still pressed, and from a shot by Compton, which Perritt pulled down, Manning gave them the lead. The same player a few minutes later increased the visitor’s lead, and until the end the homesters never became really dangerous.
