KINGSTHORPE v. CASTETHORPE

A match was played on Saturday between the Kingsthorpe and Castlethorpe Clubs, on the ground of the latter, the Carrington Arms, when the visitors won a very enjoyable game by 12 points. The conditions of the game were 14 players a-side, 12 yards distance, with stumps level with the clay, and considering this was the first time the Kingsthorpe men had played the distance, they were fortunate in winning. After the match the players were entertained by the home club, a splendid spread being placed on the table by the worthy host, Mr. A. Masterman. After full justice had been done to the eatables, a very pleasant evening was spent, Mr. T. Marriott occupied the chair, Mr. W. Robinson the vice-chair, and Mr. W. Parberry jun., presided at the piano.
