Jan 4th Opened school today (Tuesday) after Xmas holiday.
   
Jan 6th Mr. Mapley, one of the managers, called in this morning and checked the registers.
   
Jan 17th Am now taking Std 3 in the main room myself instead of letting them go with Stds 1 & 2.
   
Jan 31st Many children are away with colds etc. and the attendance is rather poor.
   
Feb 23rd Mr. Parrott called this morning. The attendance is still very poor. Most of the absentees are away with colds & there 3 away through measles.
Dr White called and examined Grp D. leavers.
   
Feb 28th The school nurse called this morning & examined every child present.
   
Mar 8th Received notice of three more cases of measles.
Because of the heavy snow and the inclement weather of the last fortnight, and the colds & measles, the attendance lately has been very poor.
   
Mar 27th Began the terminal examination today.
   
Apr 13th Mr. Watkins called in this afternoon and checked the registers.
   
May 4th Mr. Mapley one of the managers called this morning and checked the registers.
   
May 15th The master has been absent from duties since May 2nd. Miss Rainbow has done duty during his illness. He resumes this morning.
   
June 1st Mr. Streatfield H.M.I. spent the day with us.
   
July 3rd Mrs. Middleton will give demonstration cookery lessons to the first class girls this week on war economy cookery. The lessons will be given at 10 o'clock each morning.
   
July 6th Mr. Mapley one of the managers called in & checked registers.
   
July 7th Half holiday this afternoon for attendance.
   
July 10th Miss Dunn came this morning to see the physical exercise. She came at 10 and left at twelve.
   
July 27th Dr Digby - White was present this afternoon to examine Children of Group B (born 1908).
   
Aug 4th The school nurse called this morning & examined each child. She excluded 3. (These will be excluded till Monday next Aug: 7th).
   
Aug 11th Closed school today for the Midsummer Holidays.
   
Sept 25th Opened school this morning.
   
Sept 27th Mr. Watkins called in this morning and checked the school registers.
   
Oct 4th The school nurse called this morning & examined each child. 4 notices sent to parents (re 5 children).
   
Oct 23rd School nurse called again this morning to examine the 10 absentees of the 4th. She excluded 2 girls until Wed: the 25th.
   
Oct 30 A half holiday on account of the village feast.
   
Nov 2nd Mr. Mapley called in this morning & checked registers.
   
Nov 20th Today we shall start the afternoon sessions at 1.30 instead of 1.14 so as to finish a little earlier. We shall continue this during the darkest weeks of the winter.
   
Dec 20th Closed school for Xmas holiday - shall re-open on Jan 1st 1917
