In the name of God Amen the Tenth daye of December Anno Dini 1625 I William Chapman of Castle Thropp in the County of Bucks husbandman doe make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following ffirst I bequeath my soule into the hands of Allmyghtie god my maker sedfastly believing through the merritts of Christe Jesus his onely sonne I shalbe partaker of the Joyes of Heaven in the world to come Itm I give and Bequeath unto William Chapman my sonne the some of Tenne poundes of lawfull English money five poundes poundes thereof to be paide unto him within one yeare after my decease and the other ffive poundes within twelve months then next following Itm I give and Bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Leache the sume of Tenne shillings to be paid unto hir within one yere after my decease All the Reste of my goodes and Chattells unbequeathed my legasies Aforesaid and funeral expences discharged I give and Bequeath unto Margery my wife and John Chapman my sonne whom I make sole executors of this my last will In witnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hande and seale in the presence of these whose names are under written
