I am searching for information about Elizabeth Askew 1815-1878.
Her father John died in 1823 when Elizabeth was 8 and her mother, Joanna Hebbs, re-married the following year.

When she was 21, Elizabeth had a daughter Ellen in 1836, then a son, Joseph in 1838 ( his bith certificate shows no father) and another son John in 1845.
Elizabeth remained unmarried and she died of heart disease in 1878 aged 62.

In 1841 aged 25 with her 2 children (Ellen and Joseph) she resided with Margaret Denton and her unmarried daughter Elizabeth Denton (whose daughter Mary died in her first year) and also Margaret Denton's 2 grandchildren Jane and Emma Smith whose father had recently died.

In 1851 Elizabeth was in the Union Workhouse with her children.
In 1861 - 1871 she had found accomodation in the Hanslope village and lived with her adult children working as a lace maker.

I have not been able the father/s of Elizabeth's 3 children and wonder if there are any court papers, or if anyone could direct me to find out more about my 3x great grandmother's sad life.

Any information about the above people will be very helpful - I am researching from Australia.
