Hi everybody, we are a husband and wife team who have carried out metal detecting in fields in and around Hanslope for approx 7 years, we have recorded all the finds over 300 years old on the Portable Antiquities Site so they can be accessed in the future by all those who are interested to do so, many are not yet verified for public display but will be at some time in the future.

We have never found anything spectacular as individual finds such as gold cups, valuable rings and so forth but we have found lots of items in total covering a period of just over 2000 years and have kept just about everthing we have ever found in the area.

we occasionally bump into villagers whilst detecting in the area and if some of you have seen a middle age couple in the fields then that is probably us.

We are thinking of displaying these finds at Hanslope at one of the village weekend events next year in the summertime and the purpose of this mail is to ask those who might look in and read this as to whether you would be interested to see these items displayed as mentioned above.

What a fantastic Idea, go for it. Hanslope's own Time Team no less, eh? Ancient artifacts don't need to be precious metal to fascinate. I'll look forward to hear more about this.
