Can't help with "Widows Row" but my late Dad loved to tell us he'd been born down "Bull Jit". There was a small terrace of houses at the end of the alley that ran down the side of the Bull.
The family moved from the terrace to the newly built "Council Houses" in the early '30s.
Does anyone know if they were really the first properties in the village with electricity "built in"?
I was always told that my Grandma had the first electric cooker in Hanslope when they moved into the "Council House", but someone - maybe the schoolmaster? - had an electric kettle that kept blowing a fuse that needed replacing.
Rather than make a trip to Wolverton each time he'd visit my grandparents, Grandpa being an electrician in the Works, for the repair, which kept Grandpa in beer money
