The surveys and rents include transcriptions of details covering most tenants and holdings belonging to the Dukes of Grafton between 1725 and 1875, plus details of the main Estate Sales of 1913, 1919 and 1920, with listings, maps and details of the tenants. Ownerships of cottages and houses can thus be tracked over a period of around 200 years. The CDs have three years of research behind them and are lavishly illustrated with period maps, paintings and photos. They also feature interactive maps and tours. Most villages have a special feature or gallery which deals with particular aspects of the village's past. In all, the CDs contain around 2,200 pages of information, in a readily accessible and clearly arranged format, running on Windows 95 and above. For people interested in local and family history, this is a "must have" resource - and all for just £10 + post and packing!
