Press Reports & Publications
The following resources have been used in the story of the Hanslope Park Tragedy which comprises this section of the site. No doubt others exist, and Hanslope & District Historical Society would be very interested to hear of any which are available.

In particular, the society would like to hear from descendants of William Farrow's widow Annie - to complete the story of what happened after she left Hanslope, and even to shed any light on the enigmatic inscription on William Farrow's gravestone.

As mentioned on a previous page, certain caveats apply when reading the newspaper accounts. No one single account covers all the details, and there are inaccuracies over places, details, and especially the spelling of the names of local people. The reports have been transcribed verbatim, however - errors and all.

Books

"The Hanslope Park Tragedy" by Edward Gerald French. Publ 1968

Hanslope & District Historical Society has a copy. There are also three copies in the Local History section of Bucks County Library at Aylesbury.

This is the book written by the squire's nephew and godson. Understandably, it tells the story from a family viewpoint and throws light on life at Hanslope Park before and after the tragedy. Its version of Farrow's motivation has already been mentioned. (see Inquest)
