It is believed that in the early 20th century this building contained two separate dwellings. An early photograph shows two differnt roof lines, marking the extent of ech dwelling. The part nearest the road was small.
In the 1920s Alfred Herbert had a small grocery shop in this house. Nora Hillyer also kept a shop here. She was brought up in the larger house behind. |
