Our growing archive consists of items such as maps, pictures, models and an increasing number of A4 binders containing assorted photographs, newspaper cuttings, documents and other memorabilia. The process of digitising the archive is planned to begin in the Autumn of year 2000. The work, when completed will not only preserve documents but also assist in research and access to the wealth of information held. The database programme developed by staff at the Living Archive in Milton Keynes will enable searching to be undertaken on a variety of subjects. An interface open to the public will allow searching to be undertaken without the ability to change the information held. Progress on the computerisation project can be obtained from the chairman. |
