The school is now Hanslope Combined School, serving Hanslope and a number of neighbouring villages. It opened shortly after the old school, on part of the same site,closed and was then destroyed by a mysterious fire.

"We used to do a lot of country dancing and we used to go to different schools. We'd won the trophy for so many years if we'd have won it for another year we'd have kept it, but we didn't win it!"

Hanslope Combined School produced the original printed version of this trail - Beech Class who achieved this in1999 are photographed below. They have also documented in 2000 the sad death of a former scoolmistress, Miss French, who caught fire one Christmas in front of her class. This is recorded on the school's own website.

The trail turns back at this point, and then turns right into Western Drive, which it goes to the far end of.
