Heritage Open Days 2012 will be September 6th - 9th

Welcome
Milton Keynes has contributed to the national timeline of history many times thanks to its geographical location, connection to key transport and communication routes and innovative and forward approach to delivering many historic ‘firsts’ in the UK.
In 2011, Milton Keynes Heritage Open Days events will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the 1951 Festival of Britain as part of the national Archive Awareness Campaign. 51 events will highlight the borough’s significant contribution to the national story and the 1951 festival themes – arts, architecture, agriculture, science and innovation, religion and how we used to live.
In celebration of our Armed Forces, as part of a wider campaign in Milton Keynes, MK HODs has a number of events, exhibitions and gardens marked by a Union Jack that celebrate or commemorate the contribution of our service men and women past and present.
You are encouraged to take part in our FREE events, many of which are being put on especially for children and families, and get to know a bit more about ‘Amazing MK’. For further information visit:
