MKArts for Health uses arts and heritage to promote health, well-being and recovery within the hospital environment in which they work. As part of the MK40 celebrations, former artist in residence Bob Jardine’s works are being exhibited in the city. Come and visit the exhibition and some of the 700 other pieces of art exhibited.
MK Hospital is on the main A421 or H8 Standing Way as it crosses Milton Keynes. Follow the red H signs and then look for visitor parking.

14 Buckingham Local Literary Ladies Weekend

The Old Gaol
The Buckingham Society, Buckingham Heritage Trust and Swan and pen Literary Society mark the 60th anniversary of the death of Flora Thompson by looking at her legacy, and celebrate local luminaries who made their mark with the pen - Buckingham dramatist, Mary Pix, 'kitchen maid' poet Mary Leapor of Brackley and Florence Nightingale, who with her lamp illuminated and educated this area. Located 10 miles west of Milton Keynes on the A421. Follow signs to town centre. The Old Gaol Museum is in the middle of the town centre.

Come and visit two of Milton Keynes’ oldest buildings. Mediaeval hammer-beam roofed hall dates from the time of the Wars of the Roses. There are carved heads in the roof, one sticking his tongue out! 21 Buckingham Canal Heritage Walk

Meet at Cosgrove Lock at 11.00 a.m. for an interesting walk along the first mile of the Buckingham Canal and back along the Great Ouse river and Grand Union Canal. Distance approximately 5 miles. Located 6 miles NW of Milton Keynes just off the A5. At the large roundabout in Old Stratford take the fourth exit signposted A508 to Northampton, then take the first turning on your right and follow the signs to Cosgrove Lock.

Important notes: The walk is not suitable for the disabled or wheeled items. Please bring appropriate footwear to suit weather conditions. Children under 16 must be accompanied.

33 ‘Personal Stories’ Website Launch Event

Living Archive is the premier community archive organisation in Milton Keynes. Come and celebrate the launch of a new website containing personal stories that reflect the diverse heritage and culture of people living in Milton Keynes. The event will feature live performances of Bollywood dance, Gujarati folk music, music from the Telugu Sangham Association and African drumming. A mini cinema will show documentary films made by young people who have explored their roots through music. There will be an exhibition of people’s stories, traditional costume, henna hand painting, food tasting and much more.
