Dobbies Garden World is built on part of the old Roman settlement of Magiovinium and a 'Roman' garden has been established at the Centre to commemorate the link. MKArts for Health uses arts and heritage to promote health, well-being and recovery within the hospital environment in which they work. As part of the MK40 celebrations, former artist in residence Bob Jardine’s works are being exhibited in the city. Come and visit the exhibition and some of the 700 other pieces of art exhibited.
MK Hospital is on the main A421 or H8 Standing Way as it crosses Milton Keynes. Follow the red H signs and then look for visitor parking.

Bletchley Park During World War II, the German armed forces’ top secret codes were broken at
Bletchley Park, providing the allies with vital information towards the war effort and are believed to have reduced the war by at least two years. Come and visit and experience a guided tour with a difference.
Follow the signs for Central Bletchley until you pick up the brown signs for Bletchley Park. The entrance is past Bletchley railway station off Sherwood Drive to your left. Stop at the control point.

14 Buckingham Local Literary Ladies Weekend

The Old Gaol
The Buckingham Society, Buckingham Heritage Trust and Swan and Pen Literary Society mark the 60th anniversary of the death of Flora Thompson by looking at her legacy, and celebrate local luminaries who made their mark with the pen - Buckingham dramatist, Mary Pix, 'kitchen maid' poet Mary Leapor of Brackley and Florence Nightingale, who with her lamp illuminated and educated this area. Located 10 miles west of Milton Keynes on the A421. Follow signs to town centre. The Old Gaol Museum is in the middle of the town centre.

15 Milton Keynes Village Walk and Exhibition

The old post office in Milton Keynes village
Guided walk around the buildings and sites in the village which gave its name to the city. Trail includes old-world cottages and rectory, the old Swan Inn, and ends at the church where historical photographs of the village will be displayed.

Milton Keynes Village is situated to the east of the city of the V11 Tongwell Street between Fox Milne and Monkston.

To reach MK Village from V10 bus stop (5 mins walk):

On leaving the vintage bus at the bus stop on V10 Brickhill Street, proceed on the redway under the V10 and turn tight into Noon Layer Drive passing Middleton Primary School on your right and Digby Croft on your left. Turn right down the pathway towards the church tower in the near distance until you reach the Church and Willen Road. Village Hall car park is in front of you.
Meet at car park by the Village Hall.

Come and visit two of Milton Keynes’ oldest buildings. Mediaeval hammer-beam roofed hall dates from the time of the Wars of the Roses. There are carved heads in the roof, one sticking his tongue out! 21 Buckingham Canal Heritage Walk

Meet at Cosgrove Lock at 11.00 a.m. for an interesting walk along the first mile of the Buckingham Canal and back along the Great Ouse river and Grand Union Canal. Distance approximately 5 miles. Head out of Milton Keynes north on the A5. At the large roundabout take the fourth exit signposted A508 to Northampton. Take the first turning on your right into Cosgrove village and follow the signs to Cosgrove Lock.

Important notes: The walk is not suitable for the disabled or wheeled items. Please bring appropriate footwear to suit weather conditions. Children under 16 to be accompanied.

Newport Pagnell Historical Society has been collecting the history of Newport Pagnell for many years and has many artefacts, archives and photographs of the town. Silver Street is the last turning on the left on Tickford Street before the High Street roundabout.

35 Heritage Art Activity Workshop

40 MK40 Event: Marshworth - The Start of Modern Milton Keynes Tour

Come and see where it all started with a 30 minute talk and 60 minute tour of Marshworth, Tinkers Bridge. Described at the time as 'spacious modern-style luxury bungalows', this development comprised the first private housing built in the city, was leading edge at the time and still informs current development in the city. Marshworth is located at Tinkers Bridge, 1.5 miles SE of Central Milton keynes. The entrance to Marshworth is off H9 Groveway, close to the Simpson roundabout. Community Hall is next to Tesco Express.
