SOME OF GILLIAN'S QUILTS
I made my first patchwork quilt for daughter No.3, Lucy. in 1972. It was made from hand stitched hexagons, not quilted, and fitted her pram. My second attempt in 1974 was on a larger scale, again hand sewn hexagons. The fabrics in it were all scraps from clothes I had made for the children and myself over many years, a sort of memory lane quilt, and this time it was quilted. It is now in America, having travelled with Lucy to the USA, Russia, Finland, back to the UK and then back to the States. It has come home once to be re-made, but is still much used and loved - and I have never stopped since then!!
