1. In 1945 World War II had not ended. At that time people serving in the Armed Forces were excluded from the register. Therefore men in the town serving with the Armed Forces are not included in these lists.
2. In 1945, electors were required to attain the age of 21 years to qualify.
3. The 1945 register does contain a few errors. Wherever possible, errors obvious to the transcribers have been corrected, but doubtless a few remain.
