Old Stratford Canal Wharf

This page attempts to tell the story of one of the four wharves of Old Stratford, reputed to have been the largest and busiest. It has seen its share of tragedies. In its day numerous attempts were made to bring prosperity and employment to Old Stratford through its presence, but multiple ownerships and changes of trade have not always succeeded.

Read through the newspaper articles here, which tell their own story.

Site of the Canal Wharf - W. M. is where the windmill stood which had patent sails and fantail in1836.
