In the field opposite the Old Rectory used to stand the Village Hut,

the social centre of the village in the 1920's and 1930's

( That's the hut there by the trees.)

They met in there, they danced in there, they held concerts in there

until the dreaded day in 1941 when the rector sold it to raise funds for the church.

It ended up in Plymouth.
