Minutes of the Meeting of the Parish Council held on Monday 12th February at 7.30pm in the Reading Room.

Present: Cllr Warren (Chair), Cllr Joy, Cllr Freeman, Cllr Seymour (Milton Keynes Council).


1. Apologies: Cllr Trett, Cllr Boustred.

2. Declarations of Members Interests: There were no declarations.

3. Residents Items:

Hollow Brook Sign: This has still not been erected. Cllr Seymour will chase.


4. Minutes of Last Meeting: It was proposed by Cllr Freeman and seconded by Cllr Joy that the minutes of the meeting held on 8th January 2007, signed as a true record.


5. Matters Arising from Previous Minutes:

Drains: Milton Keynes Council have advised that routine gully cleaning was carried out through the village on 10th January, also that they have cleaned out two blockages, one in the carrier drain, one in the gully. There is a further problem with the first chute gully north of Malting Close, this will require further investigation.

Dag Lane: The Cleansing Dept have cleaned what they can access with a mechanical sweeper. The remainder will need to be hand swept when resources allow. Highways have advised that they intend to finish the resurfacing in May of this year.

Path from Gayhurst: It is hoped that the proposed siding out, will allow mobility vehicles and prams to used the path.


6. Finance & Current Balances:

a) Balances: The balances to date were circulated and signed as a true record. Total in bank as of today £9,176.55.

b) To Approve Landscape Contracts: It was proposed by Cllr Freeman and seconded by Cllr Joy that Milton Keynes Council continue with the mowing of the Recreation Ground at a cost of £2,205 and that RJS Landscape maintain the flower beds and play area grass at a cost of £650.00

c) To Approve Precept for 2007/2008: It was proposed by Cllr Freeman and seconded by Cllr Joy that the Precept for 2007/2008 be set at £9,925 (the same as last year).

Hedges in Recreation Ground: Quotes have been received to cut the hedges in the Recreation Ground. It was proposed by Cllr Freeman and seconded by Cllr Joy, that the quote of £750 from Ace of Spades be accepted.

New Notice Board: A Parish Partnership Grant will be applied for towards the £500 cost of a new Notice Board.

7. Planning Matters: There were no Planning Matters for discussion.

8.Sub-Committee Reports:

a) Thames Valley Police/Road Safety:
The recent Police Meeting had been cancelled.

b) Guntrip Fund: Nothing to report.

c) Village Hall: There have been several improvements made recently.

d) Reading Room: A quote of £70 per door had been received to replace the outer toilet doors. It was agreed that both toilet and the kitchen door should be replaced. The condensation from the tea urn was raised again. This will be further investigated.

e) Recreation Ground/Highways: It was agreed that quotes should be obtained to install some full size goal posts on the Recreation Ground.

f) Dog Fouling: No reported problems at the moment.


9. Correspondence in File:

Changes to the Code of Conduct: Councillors had seen the proposals and there were no adverse comments.


10. Councillors' Items: No items for discussion.


11. Next Meeting: The next meeting will be held on Monday 12th March 2007 at 7.30pm in the Reading Room.
