The Organ

The organ is an interesting instrument. It was built by Bevington and Sons of Rose Yard, Greek Street, Soho and dates from 1850. It was obviously built to the design of the purchaser as the specification is very unorthodox (and not too convenient) and the appearance, with Bell Gambas as front pipes, although not unique, is certainly unusual for a parish church.

The Organ

Rose Yard was renamed Manette St, after a Dr. Manette, from Charles Dickens' 'Tale of Two Cities', who in the novel lodged there, doubtless overlooking the organ builders.

The organ is situated in a recess in the north wall, constructed when the organ was installed.
