SHS again sponsored the annual village Scarecrow Competition. This year there were 45 entries which were on display from 5th to 12th July. The winners were:
- 1st: 'Mr Pap A Razzi' - 7 Perry Lane
- 2nd: 'Sammy on the trumpet (Sameon)' - 2 Leys View
- 3rd: 'Going to the Chapel' - 4 Crofts End
- 4th: 'Farmer Piles' - 7 Church Road
- 5th: 'Jack Raven' - 1 Manor Court
- 6th: 'One man and his dog' - 12 Crofts End
- 7th: 'Singing in the rain - 12 Crofts End
The "Angel of the South" Scarecrow, first seen last year, also made a re-appearance:
