SHS again sponsored the annual village Scarecrow Competition. This year there were 31 entries which were on display from 27th June to 4th July, plus 5 scarecrows by the Committee. This year's judge was Chris Stapleton.

The award ceremony, plus an exhibition, was held in the Village Hall on Saturday 4th July 2009.
