Carters Close, Sherington

The Carters Close housing development was built over three fields within the centre of the village, the largest being Carters Close and hence the name of the new development.

No one is sure why the field came to be known Carters, but one of the wise sages from the village thinks that it was a General Carter who camped his battalion of troops in the fields while marching north during the Civil War.

The Carters Close development was build by S&S Homes. The properties were then sold through a local office of Connell's Estate Agents.

The development started in the spring of 1978 and was completed by the end of 1979.
