The Chronology of Towcester - 10th Century

Date Event Related to Towcester
917 In 917 A.D. the Danish Viking armies from Northampton and Leicester attacked the "burh of Towcester" which was thought to have been previously fortified by King Alfred of Wessex's son, King Edward the Elder of Wessex. [Ref. 1]
