1138 Rebellion against King Stephen by supporters of Matilda.
113x Building of Bury Mount.
Pre 1173 Roger de Clare, Earl of Hertford died. Manor detached from crown prior to this. He gave Towcester Mill to the Knights Templars (Baker p.312). Succeeded to Title in 1152.
1170 1170-1200 A late Norman `Transitional' church laid and is the basis of the plan of the present St. Lawrence's church
