The Chronology of Towcester - 21st Century

2000 Millennium Town Fete at the Recreation Ground organised by Towcester Rotary Club.
2000 The Roll of Honour at St. Lawrence's Church was restored by the Towcester and District Local History Society.
2001 Last service held at the Baptist Chapel on Sunday 18th February 2000.
2001 First Towcester Farmers' Market held.
2002 Green plaques erected on historic buildings in Towcester by the Towcester and District Local History Society.
2003 June 2003. The first Towcester Midsummer Music Festival event.
2003 Fire destroyed the Scout Hall in Baden Powell Crescent. It was rebuilt and reopened in 2004.
2004 Launch of Towcester Town Council website at the Library on 27th April 2004.
2004 Radstone Technology move from their Water Lane site to their new building on the Old Tiffield Road. The Water Lane site is redeveloped for housing.
2005 17th-19th May 2005. Contents of Easton Neston house auctioned by Sotheby's.
2005 Lord Hesketh sold Easton Neston house and estate for £15 million.
2005 West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (WNDC) established.
2006 September 2006. Radstone taken over by GE-Fanuc Embedded Systems, a joint venture between General Electric (USA) and Fanuc Ltd (Japan).
2006 1st December. Towcester Mill building was bought by South Northamptonshire Council.
2007 Plans for the expansion of Towcester exhibited for public consultation.
2007 July-September. Archaeological dig at Bury Mount by Northamptonshire Archaeology.
