BRANCH MEETINGS and ACTIVITIES 2008
Meetings are on the third Friday of each month, at the Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre at Bradwell Abbey: click here for a map. Doors open at 7pm for a prompt 7.30pm start.

Our meetings are open to the general public. We welcome a donation towards the cost of room hire and refreshments - £2 per person is suggested.

Members' Evening
This months meeting is a member's night, when three of our members will be giving short talks on a subject of their choice:
Jeremy Cooper
will be looking at the Daily Graphic for Friday 15th June 1917 (yes, really!). The newspaper - a real one, not a replica - will be auctioned at the end of the evening.
Paul Hooley
Paul’s talk will be entitled 'One Foot in the Grave' and will be about the life and death of his grandfather, Richard Foot, who was a machine gunner killed at Arras in May 1917 (as was his brother Roland) and the search for his final resting place.
Dr. Eric Webb talk about school photos of some who went on to fight in the Great War.

Lawrence the Polymath
Elizabeth Higgins, a former National Trustee, of the WFA, will speak about Lawrence of Arabia.

Unfortunately Tony had to cancel at the last minute: so it turned into an evening of conversation and a brief act of remembrance. Displays were provided by several members including artworks prepared by children in Cranfield for a British Legion remembrance competition. We hope to put some of these on this website soon.
