Throughout the 19th century there were many Lambert families in the village, now we come down to the last Lambert in the village, Bill who was 92 last December. Although he was not born in the village as such, but in an outlying farmhouse known as Badger's Farm as his father was a shepherd for a local farmer, probably Harry Weston at that time. All his ancestors in the 19th century were residents of Yardley Gobion as can be seen below along with some photographs. Is this family related to the others somewhere? Who were the first Joseph's brothers?

Bill (William George) said he had the brother and sister found on Free BMD, he was born too late to be on it. It seems a long time from 1897 to 1908 before having a child but at this moment I have no information of any other children, further research to follow.

I have an apology to make to another Lambert family in the village that I overlooked when writing this article. Bill failed to mention that his grandson and family live Yardley Gobion, so they are keeping the name going with two sons. I guess Bill thought that I knew this.
