06.02.2007 - New Bradwell Heritage Group updates its site with a feature on New Bradwell schools.

04.02.2007 - Hanslope & District Historical Society launch new edition of their family history database adding transcripts of burials for the period 1813 to 1852, including 251 additional records, mostly from the years 1847 to 1852; plus transcripts of the church register for the period 1780 to 1812, which included 1,451 baptism records and 1,135 burial records. There are now over 72,000 entries in the database - all available on-line.

Cosgrove Heritage is being featured in a new site being developed

Towcester & District Local History Society is developing a feature on the history of Towcester Fire Brigade. The Society is also working on a comprehensive survey of Towcester Cemetery, research on the 1855 rate book for Towcester and a section on the history of Veterinary facilities in the town.

The Two Villages Archive Trust is about to start developing a family history database using the model developed at Hanslope.

Yardley Gobion History Group is continuing to develop new features for the site.

  • 18.12.2006 - Yardley Gobion History Group launches a further update of its site, including details of the Shakeshaft family and the two world wars. Click here for details.
  • 14.12.2006 - Sherington Historical Society launches a feature on its Open Day (held on 30th September 2006). The theme this year was Sherington Artists. Apart from photos of the event itself, 179 photos of the artwork that was on display are now online.

  • 30.10.2006 - Woburn Sands Collection completes its entries for all the Trade Directories for Woburn Sands. There are now 25 fully transcribed directories from 1847 to 1940. Also added in this update is a biography of Gertrude Page, a noted romantics author who lived in Aspley Heath.

  • 02.09.2006 - Another addition to the Tours & Trails page has been added: the history and tour of St Lawrence's Church, Towcester
  • 01.09.2006 - In August 2006, the site recorded its two millionth visitor since January 2002, when site access log files began to be analysed by software, rather than manually. MKHA is proud of its record in bringing the heritage of the sub-region to a global audience, and is grateful to the worldwide visitors who have shown interest and support as well as the Heritage Lottery Fund, which has twice supported projects to extend this site.
  • 31.08.2006 - Woburn Sands Collection adds another postcard trail to the site, that of the High Street, comprising 35 views of it, with their modern-day equivalents.
  • 29.08.2006 - Hanslope & District Historical Society launch an extra to their family history database adding a transcription of the Wesleyan-Methodists baptism records for 1838 to 1899.
  • 24.08.2006 - Hanslope & District Historical Society launch new edition of their family history database adding baptism data for the period 1813-1845.
  • 23.08.2006 - Stoke Goldington Association adds to its History of Wesley's Coaches with features on the disposal of the business and the situation after the takeover by York's Coaches

  • 07.08.2006 - Wolverton & District Archaeological & Historical Society launches the final major expansion to its feature on Thornton Village. The latest sections deal with the final developments and changes on the Thornton Estate, as well as the Thornton Register of Births, marriages and deaths 1562-1812.

  • 30.07.2006 - Stoke Goldington Association proudly presents Grace Clark's account of Children's Games in North Bucks in the 1920s and 1930s, with illustrations by Eleanor Dixon. This original research is reproduced by kind permission of the author, and also includes an update based on Cedars School, Newport Pagnell in 1990. Indulge your nostalgia for those playground games!

  • 11.04.2006 - Kingsmead Community launches its site with details of this new development on the south-western fringe of Milton Keynes. Kingsmead is one of the new communities being built as part of the expansion of the city.
  • 10.04.2006 - Stoke Goldington Association launches the introduction to its History of Wesley's Coaches. This will be another major feature of the site, detailing the history of the firm, with many illustrations of the coach fleet.

  • 18.03.2006 - Hanslope & District Historical Society launches an update to its Family History Database. The latest data includes Baptisms for the period 1846 to 1893, Burials for the period 1813 to 1878, also data on Hanslope-born people who appear in records from other parts of the county or, in some cases, further afield. The data so far included in the database is: Census data for 1851 from Bucks, Northants and Herts, plus Marriages recorded elsewhere in Bucks.

  • 17.03.2006 - The Greek Orthodox Community of St. Ambrosius and St. Stylianos updates its Greek pages on the school, the church services and the activities.

  • 07.03.2006 - Olney & District Historical Society extends its site with details on the railway at Olney and athletics in 1878 - this feature including an interactive "e-book".

  • 23.02.2006 - The Woburn Sands Collection of archive photos, stories, historical accounts and genealogical details is now on-line, prior to the official launch at a public event at Woburn Sands Library on Saturday February 25th.

  • 13.02.2006 - Stoke Goldington Association expands its feature on Life below Stairs at Gayhurst House, by incorporating sound clips of Esther Wesley talking about her time there.
  • 12.02.2006 - Stoke Goldington Association publishes its feature on the Roll of Honour to the men of Stoke Goldington and Gayhurst who died in the two World Wars

  • 06.02.2006 - Olney & District Historical Society is extends its site with a tour of the historic market place, showing building usage over the last 200 years and featuring a Regsiter of Electors from 1936. There are also interactive maps showing the development of the town over the last 50 years.
  • 24.01.2006 - Final major sections on Gayhurst House launched by Stoke Goldington Association. There are now a full features on the history, estate and gardens. The whole section has now been listed as a new "Jewel of Milton Keynes"

  • 16.01.2006 - Stoke Goldington Association adds to its account of Gayhurst with a transcription of a talk by Esther Wesley on her 'Life Below Stairs' at Gayhurst. Read this fascinating account of a servant's view of life in a large country house.
  • 15.01.2006 - Hanslope & District Historical Society publishes a new update of its key feature "The Hanslope Park tragedy". The Society has been contacted by a grandson of William Farrow, who has supplied new information, as well as details and photos of the family's life before and after the Tragedy.
