About the Museum
The Cowper and Newton Museum is an independent museum run as a charitable trust, staffed by a Custodian and a part-time House Manager, with volunteer help from The Friends of the Museum and others.
It is housed in Orchard Side, the home of the eighteenth century poet, letter-writer and classical scholar William Cowper.

Opening times
1st March to 23rd December:
Tuesday to Saturday and Bank Holiday Mondays: 10.30am - 4.30pm
(closed Good Friday)
Open for local events:
- Pancake Race - Shrove Tuesday;
- Cowper and Newton Day - last Saturday in April;
- NGS Open Gardens Scheme - mid-June
- Dickens of a Christmas - first or second Sunday in December.

Disabled Access
There is access for wheelchair users to the garden, and limited access to the house. A portfolio of photographs of the exhibits in the upper rooms is available for those who find the steep stairs difficult to manage.
Car Parking
Free public car parks in Market Place, opposite museum, and Old Cattle Market, adjacent to musem.

Location
Olney is situated on the A509, 5 miles North of Newport Pagnell and Junction 14 of the M1.
Olney is easily accessible by car from Bedford, Northampton, Wellingborough, Milton Keynes and the M1 motorway. There are daily coaches from London and a bus service from Milton Keynes.
