| Civil Parish of Potterspury - Ecclesiastical Parish. Area of 1 acre 2 roods 3 poles Marked with a red line. Part of Old Stratford stood alone like an island between parishes. It was at one time included in the Parish of Potterspury, but in 1916 it was ceded to the Parish of Cosgrove, which took serious negotiation in spite of its small size at 1 acre 2 roods 3 poles. At the time the people of Old Stratford were unhappy because they wanted their own parish, which they did not achieve until many years later. The small area in question comprised three houses and the Swan Inn on the Watling street, and houses along the right hand side of the road to Cosgrove, and may have included Willow Terrace. Two of the dwellings three houses on the Watling street once stood where the Swan car park is now. The actual boundary of the disputed piece is not yet clear as it is confused by the 1911 census data. Part of Old Stratford was included in the Parish of Potterspury. Three house and the Swan Inn on the Watling street, and houses along the right hand side of the road to Cosgrove, included Willow Terrace. Two of the dwellings three houses on the Watling street once stood where the Swan car park is now. |

The village of Cosgrove, together with (H)Isworth Lodge, Castlethorpe Wharf, several houses at Old Stratford on the right hand side of the road leading from Stony Stratford to Potterspury and on the left hand side of the road leading from Old Stratford to Cosgrove.

| The Passenham Manor estate included a small farm (44 a.), several cottages and some accommodation land in Old Stratford when it was broken up by sale in 1911. On the other hand, evidence of deeds of all periods suggests that ownership in Old Stratford was always much divided between freeholders and was never dominated by any of the estates in adjoining parishes. Not until 1951 was a civil parish of Old Stratford created, made up of parts of the civil parishes of Deanshanger (formerly Passenham) to the south of Watling Street and Cosgrove and Furtho to the north. |
