Walking Information

Make the most of your visiting time. Instead of waiting for the vintage bus at the stop you got off, why not walk to another nearby event and see what it has to offer before getting on the bus there. Included here is the walking information to let you do that. See. Bus route & time table

Walks

Artworks-mk to Newport Pagnell Chandos Hall/Library (20 mins)
From the courtyard head down past the almshouses to your right, turning left passed the church. Follow the canal to the former railway bridge and branch line, which is now a redway. Head up turning right onto the redway crossing the canal, continue along here until you reach Newport Pagnell. Turn left, crossing two sets of pedestrian lights, go through the alleyway and then right and left passed the Coach Makers Arms. Turn right into Bury Street past the school to Silver Street.

For Chandos Hall:
Turn right – Chandos Hall is on your right through a small alleyway.

For the Library:
Turn left up Silver Street and into Tickford Street. Turn right. Library is on the left.

Artworks-mk to Milton Keynes Museum (20 mins)
From the courtyard head down past the almshouses to your right, turning left passed the church. Follow the canal to the former railway bridge and branch line, which is now a redway. Head up and turn left onto the redway and continue along until you reach Bradwell Windmill and the aqueduct. Cross the road and continue along the redway and through Blue Bridge. When the redway meets the H2 Millers Way, bear left and then turn right walking over with the road on your left Milton Keynes Museum is in front of you, entrance to the right.

Milton Keynes Museum to Bradwell Abbey (20 mins)
From the museum head along the redway keeping H2 Millers Way to your right. Cross the railway bridge and then turn left and under this road continuing into Bancroft Park and the Roman villa site. Cross the wooden bridge in front of you and immediately turn right down the step and follow Loughton Brook past the concrete cows to Bradwell Sports Field. Turn right, cross the bridge and through the tunnel under the railway. Bradwell Abbey is through the gate on your left.

Milton Keynes Museum to Living Archive (10 mins)
From the museum entrance turn left along McConnell Drive towards Wolverton. Take the first road on your left and at the mini-island turn right into Creed Street passing the library on your left and shops on your right. Turn left again into Stratford Road. Living Archive on your right in the Old Bath House and Community Centre past the Tesco Superstore.

Rectory Cottages to Bletchley Park (10 mins)
From Rectory Cottages head down Church Green Road towards Bletchley. Walk along the main road briefly turning left into Sherwood Drive, passing the Police and Railway Stations, Bletchley Park entrance is on your left.

Willen Lake to Milton Keynes Village (10 mins)
From Willen Lake South, head round along South Lake past the Adventure Xtreme Ropes Course on your right. Turn right onto National Cycle Route 51 over the miniature railway tracks and head up to and over the bridge crossing the River Ouzel. Turn left following the river before then bearing right onto the redway and past the houses keeping the new school on your right. Follow the path towards Milton Keynes Village Church, and its roadside entrance. The village Hall is in front of you.
