Volunteers for WW1 project
Living Archive is an organisation that aims to collect, preserve and share the heritage and history of Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. It has an archive collection, based at Milton Keynes Museum and it holds frequent exhibitions and other community events around the area.
We've recently been awarded funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to run a project about the First World War. We already have a lot of material on how the First World War affected people's lives in Wolverton and New Bradwell. We want to carry out more research to uncover what other material exists locally in the Milton Keynes area. This material will then be collated into a book.
We're looking to recruit Volunteers to help us with this project, who would be really interested in the information that they were able to uncover. They must have good research skills and confidence in using IT equipment. The project is based at Milton Keynes Museum on a Tuesday morning although this can be flexible. Please contact Mel Jeavons - mel@livingarchive.org.uk or 322568 for an informal chat.
