B.I.G. Buckingham's Improving Gaol Fundraising

The Old Gaol was built in 1748 as a prison in the centre of Buckingham.
Buckingham Heritage Trust is responsible for the preservation of the Grade II* listed building.
Trust must now raise £15,000 in preliminary funding for stone replacement and urgent repairs.

Events and Activities for 2009

The Old Gaol organises a range of events and lectures for all ages.
Please check these pages regularly during the year.

Please note that the Museum is closed during our refurbishment project and is scheduled to re-open 11 July 2009.
The shop and Tourist Information Centre remain open to visitors.

Festival of Architecture: look up, look around
Download from the Festival of Architecture website a fun 'look up, look around' quiz for the centre of Buckingham.
See if you can identify the building details photographed.
Answers will be on the site from mid-June, or buy a town trail from the tourist information centre for clues!

July & August 2009
Sunday Opening
During July and August this summer the museum will be open each Sunday from 1.00pm - 4.00pm.
Teas, coffee and cake is also planned on being available to visitors.
