T
rust Evening Talk - 'Flora Thompson Interpreted',
by the writer of '
The World of Flora Thompson Revisited', Christine Bloxham

With the aid of illustration, slides and anecdotes, Christine will air her entirely personal views on BBC1 television's adaptation and interpretation of Flora Thompson's trilogy 'Lark Rise to Candleford'. Whilst it is generally recognised that the adaptation is not entirely true to the spirit of the books, being dramatised, romanticised and somewhat sanitised, many Flora Thompson enthusiasts maintain that it still manages to evoke a strong sense of the period, the locations and the characterisations and provides welcome and much needed Sunday night family entertainment.
Come along on the night and air your own views!

Tickets for all spring talks are £4 in advance from the TIC and £5 on the door. Light refreshments are included
