Why does Buckingham Old Gaol need to fundraise?
Buckingham Heritage Trust is a registered charity and is responsible for the preservation of the Buckingham Old Gaol, a 1748 Grade II* listed building. It receives no direct government funding to maintain the building or to manage the museum.
Every repair, improvement or conservation project is reliant on fundraising and grant applications. Time has not been kind to the old Gaol, which is now over 260 years old. We are most grateful for your support for Buckingham's landmark building.
