This clematis was mistakenly planted in the garden, as it only dates from 1904 having come from China at that time. However it has been allowed to stay as its fine grey foliage and small bell-like flowers of pale apricot with rusty markings is so attractive. These delicate flowers are followed by fluffy, silky seed heads. An early flowering clematis which can reach 12ft or is suitable for climbing through shrubs. Ours scrabbles over an adjoining Rosa Pimpinellifolia. Sun/shade.
