From September 2000 onwards, we developed a colour palette of wools comprising 50 colours. These 50 colours, and only these, were used throughout the tapestry. The palette contained no primary colours, and no black or white. |

The first kits to be developed were for the houses in the village. We took 'full frontal' photographs of the various properties, such as this one in the High Street. |

From the photograph, we traced the outline, and copied it onto 16 hpi canvas. |

By March 2001 we had about 20 kits ready but the stitchers were so keen, that the project committee was hard put to it to keep up with demand. |

A husband of one of the stitchers, David Levine, made 40 frames for the kits, but with the enthusiasm of the stitchers we asked him for a further supply. We had over 60 frames out at a time with different house kits. |
