About two miles N. N. E. from Newport in the same hundred, is SHERRINGTON, an inconsiderable village, situated on the road to OIney, from which it is distant 3 miles. The parish church of St. Laud is a small structure: the living is a rectory, in the patronage of the See of Lincoln. Population of the parish is about 900.
